Great IT Support Helps Company Produce Hospital Cots for COVID-19

Meet PioneerIWS, a Gordon Flesch/ITP client in Dalton, OH. This Amish, family-owned business wanted to do something about our country’s acute shortage of hospital beds during the COVID-19 crisis. As a steel fabricator, Pioneer had the right equipment to manufacture cots for field hospitals. So that’s exactly what they did.

In just two weeks Pioneer went from conversation, to concept, to delivering their first field hospital cots to New York on April 3. Another 1,000 shipped to Columbus, Ohio on April 8.

Pioneer retooled their manufacturing facility to mass produce hospital cots with another 2,000 plus in production and requests for product from six different states. Their assembly line can produce more than 100 cots p

er hour – that’s one cot every 30 seconds! Pioneer’s goal is to produce 1,000 cots a day if needed. It’s an exciting success story that shows how strong, secure IT infrastructure enables a company to adapt to change.

Dependable IT support and guidance from Gordon Flesch/ITP helped make all of this happen. There’s no better feeling for us than supporting an amazing company as they do great things for the world. Whatever your business, we’re here to help you pivot with the times, stay productive, and make a difference. Congratulations to Pioneer for their contributions to the COVID-19 recovery efforts.
