From both a marketing and functionality standpoint a well designed and optimized web site can be invaluable to your company.  Whether the purpose of your web site is visibility, e-commerce, or content management, ITP can help with every aspect of the design and implementation of your web site.  With years of experience developing and optimizing web sites we can create, upgrade, and/or optimize your web site to help your site rank optimally via search engines.

Experienced Web Site Developement

With our years of experience designing web sites, we understand the end product needs to be based on your vision and ultimately deliver a product your happy with.  Though there are many talented design firms in the market today, few understand the process of designing a web site is as much about effective communication as it is about the design itself.  To that end, we design all our client’s web sites based on a number of principles:

•    Your web site should have a goal
•    The goal of your web site should be grounded in clearly defined business objectives
•    Your web site should deliver a message that is consistent with your goal
•    You should be in control of your content, the design process, and the end product.

At ITP we feel it is critical to inform clients about the web platform or operating system they are choosing.  People do not know but your designer/programmer is making a platform decision for you and few clients ask or know the differences.  Would you let a technology consultant install 20 computers and 2 servers and not tell you what operating system?  I hope not, you may end up with to Linux servers and 20 computers running Windows 3.1.  I won’t go in depth into all the platforms but I want to address some of the most common and dangerous.

  • We have no platform its just HTML/PHP.  Well this means you cannot edit your own content and may have higher ongoing costs.
  • We wrote our own.  This is very dangerous, what happens when there are problems with the code?  Is that your cost or theirs?  What happens when that company goes away and you still have their software running your website?  What happens when technology changes and now every website is integrating with Twitter can their platform adapt?

Make sure you know and understand the technical decisions they are making for you and try to get your website written on a standards based product that many designers know and you have options if you are unhappy with the service.

Make sure you have a trusted company that you are confident you want to do business with for a long time.  Web sites are a reflection of your brand and will stay out there as the first point of contact to your clients in many cases for at least 5 years.

Design vs.  Marketing

At ITP we inform clients about the careful balance between an visually appealing website for humans and a site which the search engines will like.  We love attractive web sites but if we had to choose between one that was less attractive and made more money for your company we would reccomend the ugly site every time.  The goal is in striking the balance.  We manage your website from all aspects from start to finish on these core components:

1-  Design (Look and Feel)

2-  Platform (Manage Your Content)

3-  Content Writing (Our writers can help you get through that mental block and create pages of Search Engine Friendly Content)

4-  Proper Search Engine Friendly Coding (All that magic computer geeks know to get you noticed)

5-  Functionality (Need e-commerce, registration system?)

6-  Project Management (A proven process of gathering information, executing and informing you through the process)

Legal and Professional Web site Design and Implementation:

Quality website design in the legal field is a more difficult question than simply who can make a visually appealing website.  You can Google “graphic design” or “website design” and you will get a list of people in your area.   Your average graphic design or marketing form may be able to create an attractive site but not know how to deploy the necessary marketing, technology, will often subcontract without your knowledge  and lack the appropriate agreements to protect your intellectual property that is your website.

The other large concern we have with people going to non-legal experienced companies is the lack of understanding of state bar rules for advertising for lawyers.  A Web site Is a form of marketing and therefore subject to the ethics rules for advertising set by each state bar association.  In Florida, for example, does your designer know that all copy must be approved before posting?  Does your designer know in Wisconsin (and many states) lawyers cannot use generic calls to action like “we are the best”  only statements which are provable like “we have over 100 years combined experience”

Legal marketing is also a different animal.  Yes with enough money any company can run a pay per click campaign but you need a non Thompson West non Lexis 3rd party to understand the best complete picture for your website market as a professional.
