Service Desk Engineer

Hours/Week: 40

Information Technology Professionals (ITP) is seeking a personable, motivated, and organized service desk technician to support the growing and diverse technology needs of our clients. The candidate selected will interface directly with our client’s end-users to provide hardware, software, network and application problem resolution and installations. This position may require some limited travel to clients, but will otherwise work out of the office.

With offices in Madison, Milwaukee and Appleton, we serve a diverse client base including, but not limited to, Law Firms, Non-Profit Organizations, Manufacturing, Education, Healthcare Organizations and various professional businesses in the Madison, Milwaukee and Appleton areas.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary of $30,000 to $50,000 per year based on experience and certifications.

Job Duties

  • Answer service desk phone calls
  • Escalates service desk tickets as needed
  • Research, diagnose, document and resolve level 1 and level 2 client incidents
  • Maintain detailed network and technical documentation
  • Provide responsive, professional, highly-personable technical support


  • Two year IT degree or related service desk or IT support experience
  • Technical certifications such as A+, MCSA, CCNA are preferred
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with:
    • Laptop and desktop hardware
    • Mobile devices and tablets
    • Windows desktop operating systems (Windows XP, 7 and 8)
    • Network peripherals
    • Printers
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and Windows Server 2008 and 2012
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment and work seamlessly with other technicians and engineers
  • Excellent communications skills, telephone support skills and interpersonal (soft) skills
  • Strong focus on customer service
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver’s license
